Homestand Ventures is a dynamic enterprise dedicated to connecting people with socially engaging/responsible products and services.

 

We currently oversee two main ventures:

 

  • Homestand Sports - a media company producing live events and digital content. we are producing live shows, video, and podcasts, that push the standard of what we'd expect to hear on TV and radio, and deliver intimate, intelligent, and interactive stories that get right at the heart of why we love the sports we do. Our mission is to build a North American platform for engaging devoted fans in meaningful and intimate conversations on sports. Founded by Kevin Kennedy in 2014, Homestand Sports first launched with Pitch Talks on baseball and has now expanded to include Puck Talks, Hoop Talks and Footy Talks.

 

  • Caribru - a brewing company and a collaboration between 100 Who Care and Junction Craft Brewing. Our goal is simple: to bring together our passions for delicious beer, special events and supporting local causes with 5% of all sales going towards 100 Who Care's group donation.

 

Job Description

Homestand Ventures is seeking a full-time contract position to work within the Marketing Department. The successful candidate will primarily provide support to the Social Media/Content Marketing Manager.  

Job duties include:

  • Assist with managing social media accounts on various platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, etc., helping engage and grow our audiences there. This will include writing, editing, publishing, and updating content on the pages, ensuring content is consistent and on-brand (style, tone of voice)

  • Align organic Social Media activity with paid social campaigns developed by the marketing team

  • Developing communications plans, including social media calendar and regularly scheduled updates

  • Assist with video content creation for our channels

  • Produce regular reporting on company accounts for Marketing Team as required, including analyzing and grouping account audiences/fans

  • Measure results of social media campaigns and promotion

  • Update and maintain content for company website (www.homestandsports.com)

  • Assist with company CRM initiatives, including weekly company email newsletters

  • Assist with the execution of paid social media marketing campaigns and contest fulfillment

 

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should display excellent verbal and written communication skills – a background in creative writing and/or Social Media community management is expected

  • Candidates should have a solid understanding of social media, CRM, content marketing and other digital media skills

  • Experience with Social Media software/management tools (e.g. Hootsuite, Sprout, etc)

  • Background in digital photography, video production and editing an asset

  • Proficiency with Excel and ability to learn new data management systems

  • A thorough understanding of trends in digital marketing

  • Excellent organizational skills – ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines. Evening and weekend work may be required.

  • An interest in the sports/entertainment/beer business is strongly preferred
